HELIKA has been active in the Czech construction and building development market since 1990. In that time the company established itself in a role of creative architect, leading technician and design engineer in the building and transport construction fields. In May 2004 the company expanded its activities to Slovakia, opening a branch in Bratislava. In June 2007 HELIKA became a part of the international Obermeyer Group which is involved in architecture and construction design fields in a number of countries round the world.

Since its foundation HELIKA has concentrated on technically complex large-scale engineering projects. Throughout the entire project development process the company operates as an architect–designer, professional guarantor, coordinator and consultant for  developers. In the Czech construction and building development market the company provides a full range of services which include preliminary design development, consultation services, preparation of project documentation, obtaining the necessary permits, construction process management and planning, site management, completion process management with handing-over and putting the project into operation. HELIKA has its own extensive network of external specialists allowing the company to handle effectively the activities that it could not undertake using its own resources. 

HELIKA’s quality assurance management system, which has been certified in compliance with the CSN EN and ISO 9001:2001 standards, guarantees the high-standard of services provided in designing building and transport constructions, infrastructure and in the field of engineering services. HELIKA also received ISO 14001 certification for the environmental management system confirming the conformance with the principles of environmental protection and OHSAS 18001:1999 certification for health and safety management system.

The most important recently completed projects include the reconstruction of the Czech National Bank headquarters building, construction of the multifunctional Chodov Centre in Prague–South,  construction of the Surgery Unit in the Military Hospital in Prague–Stresovice, reconstruction of Motol Teaching Hospital for Children, construction of Zelene Udoli housing estate in Prague-Kunratice and the multifunctional Sazka Arena sports centre in Prague–Vysocany. HELIKA is currently the head designer of Nova Karolina, the project proposed for 30-hectare area in Ostrava City centre.
