Luhačovice (Zlin region) - The Luhačovice spa has begun building a treatment, recreational and accommodation complex. According to the firm, total costs to renovate two spa buildings and build several more are estimated at almost two billion Crowns. In order to finance the project the company received a grant worth one hundred million Crowns from EU funds as well as from the regional budget. The company General Manager, Josef Krůžela announced this to journalists today.

The Morava II premises after renovation
As part of the project, the Alexandria a Morava historic buildings of the spa hotel will be renovated. Other premises will also appear in close vicinity to the hotel which will add to the offer of overnight and leisure services within the whole spa area. The company hopes for this costly project to be fully complete between 2013 and 2015.
“The whole project is geared towards expanding the range of stays available as well as new products. To secure a higher level of accommodation, gastronomic variety and other additional services which guests come to this region to experience”. the company director Josef Krůžela, commented to CTK earlier on today. According to him, the renovated and enhanced spa premises should help contribute to the development of the whole region as well as bring more guests to the spa from both the Czech Republic as well as from abroad.

The Alexandria II premises after renovation
The first phase to renovate hotel Alexandria was launched by the company this summer and completion is planned for November of next year. It is planned to develop another building in the future. According to Krůžela, costs should amount to approximately 360 million Crowns, a part of which will be covered by money from a European fund.
According to Radan Jurášek from the Helika company which has prepared the project, the renovation work will maintain the original character of the historical interiors. With regard to the new build the architects were inspired by the period of Alexander the Great.
“The Morava spa hotel is later to also expect renovation work, close by to which two further buildings will appear. Provided there will be an opportunity to do so, we would like to request this”, he said.
The Luhačovice spas, above all, specialise in treating conditions relating to the respiratory tract however people suffering from movement restricting or digestive trouble as well as those with diabetes. The spa currently has capacity to accommodate approximately 1300 people with around 550 people working for the firm last year. Last year the company showed market share of approximately 336 million Crowns with profits amounting to about 19.4 million Crowns.
