National Technical Library wins the Building 2009 Prize /02. 11. 2009/

The results of Building 2009 competition were announced on Prague's ®ofín Island on 30 September as part of the celebrations of the "Days of Building Industry and Architecture". The National Technical Library was awarded two special prizes – the prize from the director of the Czech State Environmental Fund for infrastructure and the prize from the Lord Mayor of Prague. A total of 55 buildings were entered in this year's 17th Building of the Year competition out of which 28 buildings advanced into the second round of the competition. The prizes were awarded by the Foundation for Development of Architecture and Building Industry, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Czech Association of Building Entrepreneurs, the publishing house ECONOMIA a.s. and the magazine STAVITEL [Builder].

The prize from the director of the Czech State Environmental Fund for infrastructure . The prize was awarded to the building for its exceptionally effective energy management and for its highly developed building identity. Complementing the university campus, this is an unpretentious yet exceptional building, rare to find in this country, which makes a great contribution to the architecture and building industry.

The prize from the Lord Mayor of Prague . The prize was awarded to the National Technical Library, a unique public structure  of cultural importance designed to consistently apply energy saving principles.
