Description

The design of the children’s teaching hospital solves the complete renovation and reconstruction of all buildings of the children’s teaching hospital in a scope ensuring that the final solution meets the user program, valid sanitary regulations, technical standards, and EU standards.
The design aims at removing all operational shortcomings, and repairing technical and medical equipment with maximum use of the existing buildings. Design activities were started in April 2003.
In May 2006, the zero phase of the planned total renovation ensuring removal of the disrepair of the Energocentrum, the so called “energy heart of the hospital” was completed.
The subsequent renovation of C and S wings continues the completion of the zero phase and was started in May 2006, too. A part of the subsequent phase is the ward block, lifts, and circulation area. Renovation will proceed under operation of ward wings A, B, and D + D1, in which medical intervention will be done. Completion of the first phase is planned for spring 2007.
